Childhood & Early Life
Zayn Malik was born on January 12, 1993 to Yaser Malik and Tricia Brannan Malik in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. While his father was of Pakistani descent, his mother was an Irish Christian, who converted to Islam after marriage.
He pursued elementary education at 'Tong High School' and 'Lower Fields' Primary School, located in Bradford.
During his childhood, Zayn Malik listened to different musical genres, such as hip-hop, R & B and even songs from Bollywood (Indian films). His father seemed to have a good collection and listening to various songs helped him develop love to rap.

Career
In 2010, Zayn Malik participated in an audition for the seventh season of the television reality show 'The X Factor'. Although, he was knocked out just before the final round of the reality show, the judges were very impressed with Zayn Malik's talent and felt he had the potential to conquer extraordinary heights.
In fact, Nicole Scherzinger, one of the judges, suggested that she and four other contestants, who did not reach the final round, must collaborate. Thus, Zayn Malik and four other competitors at the event formed the band 'One Direction', which later became very popular eventually.
The popularity of the four contestants helped them sign contracts with two well-known record labels, namely 'Syco Records' and 'Columbia Records'.
In 2011, 'One Direction' released its debut album 'Up All Night', which was well received by music lovers from all over the world. The song 'What Makes You Beautiful', from this album, became a chartbuster when released. The following year, the band released their second album, entitled 'Take Me Home'.
The band was quite surprised by the success of their second album, which was also a big commercial success. It is believed that more than 5,00,000 copies of albums were sold worldwide, making 'One Direction' one of the most sought-after music groups at the time.
Zayn Malik collaborated with British record producer Naughty Boy for several singles, which were released on the music sharing site 'SoundCloud'. 'I Don't Ill Mind' and 'No Type' are two of these songs, which are liked by many people and help them gain a lot of visibility in the UK.
Several media sources have reported in 2015 that Zayn Malik will collaborate with the record label 'RCA Records' for an album. In March of the following year, his album 'Mind of Mine' was released. This compilation consists of about 18 songs, most of which were written by Malik himself.
'Mind of Mine' topped the charts in several countries, including the 'Billboard 200' and proved to be a successful solo debut.
In 2016, Zayn Malik collaborated with famous rap singers Chris Brown and Usher for a remix version of the song 'Back To Sleep'.
